Staff AI training helps employees understand how to use AI tools responsibly, securely, and effectively.

Training should focus on practical use, limitations, privacy, human review, public trust, and agency-specific rules.

  • What AI tools are approved for agency use
  • What information may and may not be entered into AI systems
  • How to review AI-generated content
  • Common AI errors, hallucinations, and limitations
  • Privacy, confidentiality, and cybersecurity expectations
  • Public-records and retention considerations
  • Appropriate and prohibited use cases
  • When staff must seek supervisor, legal, IT, privacy, or procurement guidance
  • How to document AI-assisted work when required

AI-generated content should be treated as a draft, recommendation, or research aid unless an authorized agency process says otherwise.

Employees remain responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them in communications, reports, decisions, recommendations, or public-facing materials.
